Changes to the Drug Plan

SENIORS' DRUG PLAN
Starting July 1, 2008, the new Seniors' Drug Plan will include an income test component. To qualify for coverage, each senior must complete and submit an application and consent form prior to July 1, 2008.
- You must be a Saskatchewan resident with a valid health card .
- You must be at least 65 years of age.
- You must have a net income (Line 236 of your income tax return) that is less than $64,044 in 2006.
- Prescription drugs under the Saskatchewan Drug Plan, including approved drugs under Exception Drug Status, are eligible.
- If you currently pay less than $15 per prescription, you will continue to do so.
- Please note that the Seniors' Drug Plan does not include seniors who are covered under federal government programs, such as the federal Non-Insured Health Benefits Program or Veterans Affairs.
